OMVIC
The Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council, the regulator that licenses and oversees motor vehicle dealers and salespeople in Ontario.
OMVIC administers Ontario's Motor Vehicle Dealers Act, licensing dealerships and salespeople, enforcing standards for fair advertising and all-in pricing, and maintaining a compensation fund for eligible consumers. Every dealer and salesperson operating in Ontario must be registered. Other provinces have their own regulators, such as AMVIC in Alberta and the VSA in British Columbia.
